What we were up against
Leathershire had a large and extensive e-commerce website with a significant number of products and collections, making SEO optimization more complex and time-consuming. One of the major challenges was managing and optimizing a large number of product and collection pages, as many of them required better keyword targeting, unique content, meta tags, and overall on-page optimization. The website also had a substantial number of broken links and outdated URLs, which could negatively affect both user experience and search engine crawling. We conducted a detailed review of the website's URLs and worked on identifying and addressing broken and problematic links. Another key challenge was the website's mega menu structure. The existing mega menu contained numerous links that were not properly optimized from an SEO and user-experience perspective. We reviewed the mega menu, removed unnecessary or outdated links, optimized the important links, and improved the overall navigation structure so that users and search engines could more easily access the most valuable product and collection pages. With such a large product inventory, maintaining a clean website architecture, optimized internal linking, and a logical navigation structure was essential for improving crawlability, indexability, and overall e-commerce SEO performance.
Our strategic approach
I implemented a targeted UK e-commerce SEO strategy to improve Leathershire’s organic visibility and product rankings. We optimized the mega menu and internal links, removed unnecessary links, and improved the website structure for better navigation and crawlability. With a large number of products and collections, we systematically optimized product pages and collection pages using relevant keywords, meta titles, descriptions, content, headings, and image SEO. We also identified and addressed broken and outdated links, improved technical SEO, and strengthened the URL structure. Keyword research, on-page optimization, content improvements, internal linking, and off-page SEO/link building were combined to create a stronger SEO foundation for the UK market.
